Learning Objectives

·      Introduction to commonly used field devices used in various industries. Students will be introduced to old-school devices and the latest generation and why it matters.

·      PLC, PAC, DCS, IED, RTU, what are these and what do they do?

·      Is everything on the plant floor really insecure?

·      What can be done to secure what is in your plant already.

Overview of Industrial Controls Systems, in a 101-style training designed to engage even those without hands-on technical experience in operating ICS or hacking computers. Get exposed to major parts of SCADA/ICS and the purpose of each part. We will explore what happens when certain parts of the system get compromised and most importantly what can be done to lower the risk of compromise. The training will cover techniques - and defenses - from headline-grabbing attacks, such as Trisys/Triton, Ukrainian power grid, and others. During the class, students will have an opportunity to do a hands-on demo of using system features to exploit a system
